Grab My Deals Purchase Protection

At Grab My Deals, we work hard to ensure customers receive the products, services, and experiences purchased through our platform.

This Purchase Protection Policy is designed to comply with applicable New Zealand consumer laws, including the:

  • Consumer Guarantees Act 1993

  • Fair Trading Act 1986

  • Fair Trading (Gift Card Expiry) Amendment Act 2024

Voucher Validity & Promotional Expiry

Some deals and promotional offers available through Grab My Deals may include a promotional expiry date set by the individual vendor or business.

This promotional expiry may apply to:

  • discounted pricing

  • bonus value

  • special inclusions

  • promotional offers

  • limited-time deal pricing

After the promotional expiry date has passed, the promotional component of the offer may no longer apply.

However, in accordance with New Zealand consumer law, the amount actually paid by the customer for the voucher remains valid for a minimum period required by law, currently up to 3 years from the original purchase date, unless an exemption applies.

Where legally required:

  • customers may continue to redeem the original amount paid as store credit or partial payment toward the vendor’s goods or services

  • any expired promotional value, discount, or bonus inclusions may no longer be available

  • vendors may apply reasonable conditions to future bookings or redemptions where permitted by law

Vendor Payments & Unclaimed Vouchers

To help protect both customers and vendors, Grab My Deals generally processes vendor payouts only after a voucher, booking, or promotional offer has been redeemed, claimed, or completed by the customer.

Funds relating to unclaimed or unredeemed vouchers may be temporarily retained by Grab My Deals while the voucher remains active or legally redeemable under applicable New Zealand consumer law.

Where required by law, customers may remain entitled to redeem the original amount paid for a voucher during the applicable legal validity period, even if any promotional component has expired.

Grab My Deals reserves the right to manage, hold, refund, offset, or apply voucher funds where reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with New Zealand consumer law

  • manage disputes or chargebacks

  • address suspected fraud or misuse

  • assist with unresolved customer claims

  • administer valid voucher redemptions or store credit obligations

Vendor Responsibility

Grab My Deals acts as a promotional marketplace connecting customers with independent businesses and service providers.

While we assist with customer support and dispute resolution where appropriate, the fulfilment of goods and services remains the responsibility of the individual vendor or business supplying the offer.

Customer Protection

Customers retain all applicable rights under New Zealand consumer law, including protections relating to:

  • services carried out with reasonable care and skill

  • goods being of acceptable quality

  • accurate advertising and fair representation of offers

  • fair and transparent voucher terms and conditions

If you require assistance regarding a purchase made through Grab My Deals, please contact our support team and we will work with both the customer and vendor toward a fair resolution.

If a Business Closes or Cannot Honour a Deal

If a participating business permanently closes, enters liquidation,
refuses redemption without valid reason, or is otherwise unable to
provide the purchased service, Grab My Deals may, at its discretion,
provide one of the following remedies:

  • Store Credit
  • Replacement Voucher
  • Partial or Full Refund (where applicable)

Remedies are assessed on a case-by-case basis and may depend on:

  • The circumstances of the business closure
  • Whether services were partially redeemed
  • The age of the voucher
  • Applicable New Zealand consumer law

Restaurant & Booking Deals

Some restaurant, massage, beauty, or booking-based deals may require
a non-refundable booking fee to secure a reservation.

Any remaining balance payable directly to the merchant will be clearly
displayed before purchase.

Customers are responsible for attending bookings at the selected time.
Failure to attend may result in forfeiture of the booking fee in line
with the merchant’s cancellation policy.

Customer Responsibilities

  • Customers must review all terms and conditions before purchasing.
  • Customers must contact the business directly for booking
    availability and redemption queries.
  • Vouchers must be presented at redemption where required.
  • Fraudulent, duplicated, altered, or previously redeemed vouchers
    may be refused.

Merchant Responsibilities

Businesses advertising on Grab My Deals agree to honour valid
vouchers in accordance with their advertised terms and applicable
New Zealand law.

Businesses remain responsible for ensuring the quality, safety,
and delivery of their goods and services.

Platform Role

Grab My Deals acts as a promotional marketplace connecting customers
with participating businesses.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grab My Deals is not liable
for indirect loss, consequential damages, or disputes arising solely
from the actions of participating merchants.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights customers may have under
New Zealand consumer protection laws.
